Why is PK always backordered on extracts?
Small production runs with three hard to find ingredients.
- Kava CO2 extract. Possibly the most expensive extract to produce on the market. Yield ratio is 50 fresh pounds of kava to a single pound of extract. Yup, we said 50:1
- Sourcing Raw Lehua honey from the Big Island of Hawaii only. We are careful not to buy just any non heat treated Lehua honey. We hunt for the top 1% small SMALL producers whose bee keepers do not feed the bee hives with sugar during times when flowers are not blooming. We find this behavior unacceptable although most people do not even know about it. Small production honey producers have fewer bees, who have to fly lesser distances to procure nectar. Large commercial outfits have too many bees who cannot find that many flowers within their range of flight.

Hawaiian Chocolate made from Pineapple enzyme fermented Cacao from the Big Island of Hawaii only.
Our supplier keeps us waiting because of their insanely tiny production runs. Sure we could use the best chocolate in the world (Valrhona - in our opinion and still a bargain for what small batch Hawaiian chocolate costs) but that will always be the emergency choice.
Small batches of perfectly balanced chocolate liquor, sugar and cacao butter are made exactly to our specifications and routinely we insist on our own percentages to bring the best out of the kava extract's solubility and taste. Problem is that none of their other suppliers want it this way and we have also rejected several batches in the past because the % was off.
So we may not be their favorite customers.....
It's fortuitous that PK's fearless leader is charming and get's his way
