Are liver tests needed before using kava?

Has anybody anywhere on this forum posted about bad liver results?

I can only speak for myself. .. but I have liver tests completed every 6 weeks. I drink 4 to 5 big shells nearly every day. I've not once had a bad liver test. But I also use turmeric and milk thistle... I'm not sure if that does anything but so far I've had zero problems. I think if kava was really bad for ones liver my ass would have been long gone by now lol

The real question here. Keep hearing about it, but never hear anecdotal things from power users like those here. I heard more liver problems from another K substance that doesn't have any liver damage medical stigma.
