Kava & Amitriptyline = safe?

I'm trying to taper off Amitriptyline, will it be safe to combine Kava & Amitriptyline? I was on Kava for a good few months, but switched back to Amitriptyline to deal with some troubling issues in RL. I'm weaning off Amitriptyline now though, and haven't been on Kava for two months. I'm down to 25mg Amitriptyline now -- is it safe to combine 25mg & two tablespoons of micronized 11-year waka?

I think if you are wanting to play it safe, it's best not to consume kava while currently using medication.
