I Love Kava Friday Friday Christmas Shopping: Goats!

It's the Friday before Halloween, which means it's time to start with the annoying Christmas carols, and buying gifts for Christmas. Might I suggest some of these gifts available from Oxfam New Zealand that benefit people in Africa:
Goats:

https://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/gifts/pair-goats
"What do you give the person who has everything? How about a couple of goats? They are much more interesting than a toaster and will also help a family in Niger escape poverty by providing milk and breeding more goats to sell at market."

A Donkey:

https://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/gifts/christmas-donkey
"What better way to say ‘Muletide Greetings!’ to your best clients this festive season than a humble Christmas Donkey?
This little dynamo of a donkey plays a crucial role for families affected by disaster. No burden is too big to bear for this hoofed hero: navigating tricky terrain to get to areas vehicles can’t access, they carry large bundles of life-saving supplies for people who have to travel far for food and water."

The @Deleted User01 special:

https://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/gifts/goat-family
"What's better than one goat? Two goats? How about a family of goats! When a goat is presented to a person living in Niger, they know that it can breed to create more goats, provide manure for growing food and can even be sold to pay for school fees or tools. Plenty to smile about."

https://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/gifts/food-hamper
"Sure, you can say thank you to someone with a a hamper -- that curried chutney would look amazing in their pantry for the next two years. Or, you could get a hamper that will help poor farmers get a fair price for the food they grow and consume. Right now. You know what to do."

If you want to help Vanuatu, why not give a toilet:

https://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/gifts/build-toilet
"Stumped for a gift idea? This one is ideal for absolutely everyone, because when you hand this funny dunny card over nobody is likely to respond with, 'You know what? I don’t really like toilets.' And the beauty of this one is it saves lives by providing latrines and hygiene training to rural communities in the Pacific."

Where I come from, "Baby Goats" are very acceptable BBQ fare. Besides the 2 goat special, I'm also running a special on a special bottle of red wine. It's a finer rendition of the classic french wine, "Cotes du Rhone". It's devine with BBQ goat and it's called "Goats do Roam". Evidently this one roamed a little to close to the BBQ Pit. :D

Don't worry, no animals were hurt during this post. I actually run a spa for Goats and what you see is a naked goat relaxing over some warmish coals. It's very relaxin' for them just like kava is relaxin' for us. Please give it some privacy. We ain't running the Goat Porno Channel after all.

It's a cool concept, and I did some work for Heifer International on livestock donations about 10 years ago. I wish they would put more effort into the training component once the households get the animals. How to care for them, how to breed them, how to handle medical issues, etc. Unfortunately, in a lot of these programs you see people slaughtering the animals for meals or selling the meat off. Not always the case, but often enough to raise some questions about the sustainability of it

Naw, his udders are smaller than that. He's a power lifter don't ya know. ::uhhuhhz::
By the way, thanks to all the fitness talk here in the fourm, I started on weights and abs this week. Today is AB day and I just finished. Now it's
Kava Time. ::chugger:: Yes, exercise and kava in your office. It's nice to be your own boss.

Meh I'm down in the dumps bros. Stuck in this shitter little town and no idea where to go. I'm notoriously bad at making decisions. I need some heady kava to get me out of this funk! Time to numb the pain when a boroguru medium grind micro mix! Go go gadget apathy!

I could see that happening with goats, for sure. But would they really slaughter a donkey for the meat? A cute little donkey? :(
